Cudeca provides palliative home care, free of charge, to patients suffering from advanced cancer and to their families. It also runs a hospice in Benalmádena and the funds will go towards the day-to-day running costs of the hospice and the organisation, which receives no state funding. The President and founder of Cudeca, Joan Hunt O.B.E., expressed her gratitude to all the people who supported the competition. This was the 18th staging of the event which has raised over €115,000 for the organisation, which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year.
